    Can I still ferment well without buying those little jars and the stick to push the food down? Thanks!

      I explained how to do it without jars back in PD-Ed Class #192 Co-Cooking Sauerkraut. I use the 4-ounce jars to eliminate the purchase of expencive air-lock fermentation tops. I find my jar weight method has less room for error then my previous weightless techniques. I use the jars when preserving lemons now as well.
