Elevate your vegged-up meals with budget-friendly, freezer-handy, organic broccoli. This recipe transforms frozen broccoli into a texturally perfect, roasted, bright green, detoxifying addition to your plate, charcuterie board, or grain bowl. I’ve included the health benefits of supercharging sulforaphane in this recipe to enrich your knowledge of plant-based nutrition and increase excitement about how impactful meal preparation is on our gut health. Protective Diet’s biome-boosting Pickled Mustard Seeds, 7-Day Sauerkraut, and broccoli sprouts all add a pop of flavor, but more importantly, they are functional foods. These colorful garnishes are packed with myrosinase, an enzyme essential for converting glucoraphanin in broccoli to sulforaphane. This enzyme is necessary to produce sulforaphane when broccoli has been frozen. Sulforaphane is known for its impressive health benefits, including cancer prevention, brain health support, heart health, and anti-inflammatory properties that promote gut health. This recipe is a microbiome-enhancing upgrade for your routine meals. It makes vegging up Better Than Teriyaki Rice or Noodle Bowls or Instant Mac & Cheeze a breeze. By incorporating sulforaphane-rich air-fried broccoli into your diet and utilizing suggested strategies to maximize sulforaphane levels you can support a healthy, balanced microbiome and enjoy the numerous health benefits of this powerful compound.

Getting your veggies in couldn’t be made any easier than this recipe! I have never before been a fan of frozen veggies, but this air fried broccoli has been on repeat in my kitchen—so delicious and so versatile as a side dish, mixed in pasta with Alfredo, with a baked potato topped with cheeze sauce…anywhere you would add or use broccoli!
