Creamy Garden Tomato Basil Bisque Premium PD Recipe

Chilly October weather rolls in, marking the end of the tomato season and the final week of farmers’ markets. This inspires meal plans to shift from refreshing garden salads to comforting hot soup. Creamy Garden Tomato Basil Bisque is a perfect choice to make the most of the harvest. I pack tomatoes in two-pound portions, adding either basil or jalapenos before freezing them. These freezer bags serve as the foundation for my winter meal plans, providing protective bowls of soup, roasted salsa, pizza sauce, and aromatic arrabbiata pasta dinners. Be sure to check the recipe notes for tips on preserving garden tomatoes, ensuring a delicious winter ahead.

  1. I have always loved cream of tomato soup. When I was a kid I loved to put cheese and crushed ritz crackers in it. Well, dinner last night hit the nostalgia button with a grown-up twist. I made the soup as directed, but then put a dollop of pesto on top and served with the new grilled cheeze sandwich that I added pesto to. Lots of Mmmm mmmm mmmm’s as I dunked my sandwich and enjoyed every drop of soup in my bowl!
