  1. I’ve made this several times and love it. today we tried blended ripe peaches instead of bananas and it still turned out yummy. no cocoa or cinnamon. Thanks for this recipe.

  2. I make this in my food processor (half recipe) by freezing the bananas in thin coins 1st, then placing all the ingredients in the food processor. It makes a huge racket for about 30 seconds, then suddenly becomes ice cream. My kids love it. No need for atevia in my opinion. Greener bananas have less “banana” taste if one doesn’t care for it. Frozen sliced strawberries (instead of the cocoa) are also very nice.

  3. I’ve never used an ice cream maker. I’m wondering if after this is made in an ice cream maker if it can be frozen in the freezer and, if so, whether or not it can maintain its consistency. Thanks. (I’m probably being overly hopeful.)

    1. It is best served fresh if you like a soft serve texture. If you have leftovers you can freeze them. Allow to defrost for 10 minutes or so before enjoying. The texture will become like a hard packed ice cream.

  4. I didn’t try this earlier because I didn’t have an ice cream maker. Now I’m so glad that I have one because this ice cream is amazing! This is very rich and not something that I’d eat every day, but it’s so nice to know that there’s an option when I want a sweet treat or am with others who are eating ice cream. I will never feel deprived, knowing that I can make this. I, too, added frozen black cherries. Delish!!

    1. Liquid Stevia is a natural replacement for sugar. It doesn’t have any purpose other than adding sweetness to a recipe. I personally leave it out of my ice cream because my taste buds are accustomed to the natural sweetness of the ripe bananas.
