Hand-Pressed Corn Tortillas Premium PD Recipe

2014-10-28

Homemade tortillas are slightly thicker than machine pressed and resemble gorditas. These round corn cakes are delicious served open faced topped with spicy Salsa Molcajete, creamy Unfried Black Beans, sweet Mango Salsa or any of the Protective Diet toppings and salads. Grill them as a starter at your next outdoor fiesta or cook them indoors using the stove top or oven method. Try my alternative press technique. It allows you to make these tortillas without the use of a traditional tortilla press.

How long do you bake them for in the baking method? Also could you cut the tortilla into chips and bake? Or would you want to bake the tortilla first and then bake again as chips?

Melissa, The bake time is listed on step #7. These are a thick tortilla similar to a gordita and not suitable for chips.

These are so good! I ate three of them in seconds topped with not yo cheese sauce and salsa mocahejete. My question is do these last well in the fridge for a few days to have for a quick meal?
