Matzo Balls Premium PD Recipe

I grew up enjoying Matzo Ball Soup at Maxwell’s restaurant. Their special was an all you can eat bottomless bowl. My friends and I could never get past three as they were the size of tennis balls, settled like bricks and were filled with eggs and oil. For almost a decade, I have longed for them. Finally, here’s my version, free of all the fat and cholesterol. I’ve perfected the texture and with this recipe mastered, a Protective Diet is now complete for Passover.

  1. Made the matzo ball soup last night for the first night of Passover. I added carrots, celery, and onions to the matzo balls were sinkers but the flavor was excellent. My family really enjoyed the matzo ball soup. Thanks, Julie.

    1. I was looking at this recipe for Passover and it looks good. It seems it was a success for you. That’s good. I am going to make it over the holiday. Did the matzo balls actually sink to the bottom because of the carrots and celery?

  2. Happy 16 Veganiversary to me. Celebrating with oil free egg free chicken free matzah ball soup. I grew up on this soup loaded with potatoes, celery, carrots, and onions. Lots of parsley and dill. I added some fresh parsley and dill on top. My homemade veggie broth is salt free and better than the store bought. So good. PD Perfection. I made a triple batch this time and made the balls bigger. Julie Marie Christensen you are a genius. Thank you for creating the best vegan matzah balls in the world.

  3. I made this today after making the Vegetable Broth. I kept laughing while they were cooking, thinking about the video. 🙂 They tasted so good, especially in that amazing broth. I used to love Matzo Ball Soup, but sure didn’t think I’d be eating it on a PD. Thanks for making this so good and so simple, Julie!
