Since discovering PD with all the wonderful recipes and support, I am overjoyed with the transformation in my life (physically as well as mentally). I weighed 210 pounds in May of 2017 and within the first month, I had lost approximately 10 pounds. Unlike the myriad of diets I had been on in the past, PD left me with absolutely no cravings. None. What a liberating experience! My weight loss stayed consistent at approximately ten pounds per month until I was down to 140 pounds in November of 2017. And then I plateaued. I felt good, loved the food and trying new recipes but felt that I should lose another 15 pounds. When Day Fasting was introduced I was hesitant. I researched articles associated with autophagy and questioned whether it would work for me. I decided to first implement the STS program (which I hadn’t practiced). I started having my yogi bowl for breakfast at work, then nothing until 7 or 8 in the evening. I kept this up for a month with some noticeable improvements – both weight and energy wise. Julie had mentioned to me on an FB post that I was only one yogi bowl away from Day Fasting. That comment prompted me to give it a try, why not? I have been day fasting since October 22nd and have lost another ten + pounds and am beginning to notice that my loose skin is beginning to tighten up and my energy is increasing.

In response to what my “why’s” are I would have to say they are many, including a strong family history of cancer, dementia, mental illness, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. I truly believe that by following a PD lifestyle I will be able to keep these debilitating diseases at bay. My biggest “why” would be to not cause a burden for my sons regarding caring for me as I age. I’ll soon be 66 and can honestly say I feel much younger inside and out!
