I have lost 75lbs since starting the Protective Diet (PD) in July ‘13. My total weight loss has been 100Lb since becoming vegan in Nov. ‘12. Before PD I was pre-diabetic, had a high liver count, high cholesterol and acid reflex. I was on medicine for acid reflex and my doctor wanted to put me on medication for high liver count.
Instead, I tried PD to see if it would help. PD is a whole food plant base diet that eliminates oils, sugars, nuts and food additives. This plan helps reach ideal body weight, overcome obesity, food addiction and reverse many diseases.
This change lowered my cholesterol, normalized my liver count, and I’m off acid reflex medicine. I have been able to lose the weight without exercise, counting calories, points, or measuring my food.

I went vegan because of the documentary “Forks over Knives.” I lost some weight, but it was tough finding foods I liked. That all changed with With the help of PD-Ed and the support groups I have been able to stay on plan and make this a lifelong change to better health. Julie Christensen, the creator of the Protective Diet, makes adapting this plan easy, enjoyable and educational. I want others to realize there is a healthy sustainable lifestyle that’s doable.

Three Years, 125lb GONE!!
Three years have passed since I started a whole food, plant-based diet. I have lost a total of 125lb. The best part of all this is that my health has improved! I have gone from a size 24 to a size 6. My start weight was apx 265lb and now it’s 140lb. I was able to lower my cholesterol (from 219 to 116), normalize my liver count, and eliminate the need for acid reflux medicine. I am no longer pre-diabetic and my skin is no longer oily.
I started with Protective Diet over two years ago and have been enrolled in Protective Diet Education since the first class. I truly know that I would not be where I am today if it wasn’t for Protective Diet.

The things that kept me motivated and on plan these last two years were:
1. Being a part of PD-Ed (weekly interactive classes and new weekly recipes).
2. The support and encouragement from Julie Marie the creator and instructor.
3. The support from Protective Diet Living Facebook group (PDL).
I have lost 100lb following Protective Diet. This program gave me the knowledge and encouragement I needed along my journey. My desire is to inspire others along their journey to better health. If I can do this, anyone can!
