This is a wonderful staple and can be added to so many dishes. Easy to make!
Such a great addition to any savory dish/casserole. Easy to make and really bumps up the flavor profile and satisfaction of a simple meal like pasta w/marinara, Mac & cheeze, baked potato w/cheeze sauce, etc.
Used these with a modification – add 1 teaspoon of fennel seeds to the recipe. You could also add red pepper flakes – to give it more of a “sausagey” taste. Then see the creamy potato kale soup recipe for modifications to make a version of olive gardens “zuppa tuscano” soup.
Can the baked off crumbles be frozen for future recipes?
Yes, they may be slightly dry compared to fresh, but many people bake and freeze them.
