Terrific! I will trybthis – I miss my extra mayo !
Tracy if you LOVE mayo, give the Ultimate Plant-Based Mayo recipe a try!
I made mine with thawed extra firm tofu but was liquid after blending. Anyone have that problem?
Freezing changes the texture of the tofu so I suggest using fresh rather than frozen/thawed.
How much salt do you add to this recipe?
They isn’t any salt in sour cream so none is added to this recipe.
Would not blend in vitamix so I added soymilk.
It turned out ok and I like it, but once again it’s so thick I can’t squeeze it unless I use both hands! Not sure what’s going on. Everything I make is good but too thick…I follow the recipe exactly. Any hints?
Are you using a high-speed blender? Blendtec or Vitamix?
Can you freeze this?
Freezing will change the texture. It is not recommended.
how long does this last in the fridge?
I would use it with in 7 days.
Do you drain and squeeze the water out of the tofu?
Joy,
We never use the preserving liquid in any recipes. Always drain it off. In this recipe do not press the liquid out of the tofu block. When this is required in a recipe it will state it clearly.
i cant believe how simple this is. amazing!
I think sour cream dream gets better the longer it’s in the refrigerator. I do add a small amount of miso paste when I am blending to get a hint of salt. I used this on my unrefried beans and rice bowls I make and the sour cream dream was great to cool off the spicy fajitas. Thanks Julie!
Did you mean silken tofu? Because I had to add water to get mine creamy.
I added some salt, some white miso, and more lemon juice to get mine just right!
I love this! This will be made often. It is perfect on my potatoes!!!
I made this but had to add salt to get to like it. I was surprised at how sour cream-y it was. 🙂
so easy to make and non-pd eating people like this too and couldn’t tell the difference when used on something!
