Creamy Mustard & Herb Potato Salad Premium PD Recipe

This is a summertime party favorite for all. It has the creamy texture of traditional potato salad without the fat and heavy calories. Perfect to serve to everyone; just don’t tell them it’s healthy. They will never suspect it, unless they know you made it. I have secretly snuck this dish onto the buffet at many parties, watching unsuspecting people devour second helpings. They were clueless that it was vegan, let alone oil-free and healthy. The best part is telling them later, but be prepared, because everyone will ask you for the recipe.


  1. I have to add my glowing testimony!!! We like saucy salad so I only used 3 pounds potatoes and for 2 of us, that is still a lot of salad. Yippy, we will be able to eat it for a few days. It is luxury not thinking of all the normal mayo that is in potato salad. Yummy! Thanks Julie Marie

  4. I just made the potato salad for the second time, and this time is even better than the first. I used the food processor the first time to make the dressing, but used my Vitamix this time and it’s SO much creamier. MUCH better. Follow the directions silly!

  5. I decided to make the Potato Salad this afternoon but unfortunately ran out of time before I had to be somewhere so I put the cooked potatoes in the fridge. When I got home about 8:30 I made the ‘dressing’ and added the celery, onion, etc., chopped the potatoes and since the potatoes were COLD, I thought I could give it a try without chilling it. OH.MY.WORD.!!!!! Soooooooooo good! I filled a bowl, cleaned up my mess and then went to watch Olympics and enjoy my bowl of salad. I can’t even remember the last time I had potato salad because of the egg and mayonnaise. Hubby is going to love it too when he gets home (although I will have to make a new batch then because this will be GONE).

  6. This is hands-down the BEST potato salad I’ve ever had. It’s WAY better than any SAD version and it’s so easy to prepare! I only wish I would have discovered this sooner. I now have a go-to dish to bring to potlucks & BBQs. I can’t wait to hear everyone exclaim over how good it is 🙂 Undoubtedly, it will be the first emptied dish at any gathering!     1. This was a huge hit at all the S.A.D. BBQs I attended over the summer. I love putting it out and not telling anyone I made it and that it’s diet food. When they are digging in for a second helping I tell them and they are amazed!

  8. Went looking for a potato salad recipe and recalled seeing Julie-Marie’s on a FB group, so I thought why not! She hasn’t steered me wrong on her recipes to date. I followed the recipe as written with the exception of the brown mustard. I opted for a stone ground mustard because I didn’t have any mustard seeds, but the mustard I used did. Figured this was a close trade off, although all the mustard seed was ground up when I processed it for the creamy base.

    I also pre-cut the red potatoes, as I was in a bit of a hurry, figured they might cook a bit quicker. I started combining the ingredients, the dill was a bit of an afterthought as I nearly forgot it. Once done I tossed it in the refrigerator to cool.

    As I took the first few bites I noticed a sharp citrus flavor. No lemon or lime was used, so I can only figure it was the vinegar in the mustard I used. My wife noticed it too. The other people who had it at our 4th of July BBQ enjoyed the potato salad and I ended up giving them the web site in order to see all your recipes. They were also surprised there was no mayo used to make this. All in all another great recipe! Thanks Julie!

  9. This Potato Salad is spectacular. I’ve made it twice now. I make it a little different every time but the base recipe I keep. It is so good even people that aren’t following this way of eating like it a lot.

  10. Can I say OH MY GOODNESS! This so soooooo good! I am eating this right now actually as I write this! I just was not expecting this to be this good! However it is and a must try! Thanks Julie for creating so many awesome recipes that we can love and be healthy! It is actually true you can eat tasty food and it be healthy. Who knew!!!
