Protective Diet changed my life!

December 2, 2013 was the day I changed my life. I found Protective Diet the night before after someone in another plant based group mentioned the name. After going to the website and reading the details, I just knew it was for me! My highest weight, 371 here and my current weight Mid August, 2016. I had lost 92 lbs before adopting a vegan diet nearly a year prior to finding PD. My motivation for eating plant based is to prevent Alzheimer’s since many in my family have it. I truly believe this way of eating is for optimal health. By following a Protective Diet I have reversed and eliminated: Type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, anxiety, psoriasis (I was on meds for all of these – no meds at all now) as well as plantar fasciitis, oily skin and blackheads, gum disease (I had to have multiple rounds of antibiotics) sleep apnea (no CPAP machine needed anymore) and have now lost a total of 219 lbs. I haven’t had a cold or flu in over 3 years. I have great energy, and I’ve learned that I enjoy cooking because I’d never cooked before PD! I’m 2 lbs from my goal weight but it doesn’t matter. My body will get where it needs to be naturally. I love the food. It nourishes my body and my soul and tastes great! My mother had me on my 1st diet when I was in 5th grade and chubby, then I was overweight and then obese for many years. I’m so glad there will never be another “diet” for me. I thank you Julie Marie and Jerry for all you do! I love and appreciate the support we give each other. It’s a wonderful life, PD style!
